Week 1

NRHA Pattern 6 & 8

  • What is the judge looking for in the pattern.
  • Scoring the manuvers
  • Focus will be on completing the first half of each pattern
  • Concentration will be on the middle “red zone” lead departures , running the circles, and turn around/ spins

Objectives for this session 1/6

  1. Feeling confident in the “red zone”
  2. Feeling confident steering through the circles particularly the middle
  3. Confident Starting on the correct lead
  4. Speed control through circles

Drills:

  • steering box drill
  • Dinner plate drill
  • Rail drill with cones - lead departures
